R. Brent Rawlings is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). He routinely represents hospitals and health systems on legislative and regulatory matters before the Virginia General Assembly and various federal and state agencies.
Before joining VHHA, Brent was in private practice at McGuireWoods in Richmond where he represented health care clients in corporate and regulatory matters. Prior to practicing law Brent worked for two large managed care companies where he was responsible for provider relations and contract negotiation.
Brent has a B.S. in Health Policy Administration from The Pennsylvania State University, a J.D. from University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, and an M.H.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and is board certified in health care management.
